Dr. Kimberly N. Rowland, Ph.D., Chair for Abused Women Support

Kimberly N. Rowland, Ph.D., has worked in the Workers’ Compensation Industry for over 25 years.  She currently operates in the role of Government Relations and Public Affairs Manager for One Call Care Management. Kimberly challenges the status quo and visits government officials (legislators) in all 50 states discussing fee schedule challenges, the need for managed care organizations, and how the medical direction of care will benefit both the injured worker's and insured's.

Kimberly drafted Connecticut Senate Bill 376 which was sponsored by Sen. Cathy Osten.  This bill will increase reimbursement for specific radiology codes initially impacted over the past several years due to cuts in Medicare.

In addition, Kimberly is an adjunct professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, teaching Managerial Communications on the graduate level.  She is also the Chairwoman of Abused Women Committee for CORESSWC a 501 ©3 Nonprofit Charity Organization. Finally, Kimberly oversees Public Relations for an organization called Debut Management, an entertainment company.

During Kimberly’s downtime, she is an active board member of an organization called “Partnership for People, Inc.  This organization is another non-profit community-based organization servicing people with dual disabilities.

She has published several scholarly articles on mentorship and written many white papers in the Workers’ Compensation Industry.  Kimberly has written a movie script and  completed her first Children’s Book called Nora’s Lollipop which is currently under illustration.  Kimberly has also hosted her own internet radio show and a co-host on the Time to Grind Radio Show.

Kimberly earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Centenary College, Masters of  Arts, specializing in Strategic Communication and Leadership from Seton Hall Universotu and an earned Doctorate Degree from the University of Maryland University College.

She was the Keynote speaker for the West Orange Rotary Club on Opioid Addiction.

Kimberly has one daughter Taylor Rowland who is attending Kean University.

Epona Mompremier, Treasurer  

Epona Mompremier- Executive Assistant to CEO and Sr. VP of Global Sales & Marketing of Hewlett Packard Enterprise Financial Services for the past thirteen years.  I live a wellness lifestyle that involves proper nutrition, healthy eating, exercise and holistic healing.  Have been volunteering my time for over 20 years at various organizations to include: 1)  A court-appointed special advocate (CASA) volunteer, empowered, trained and certified by the Essex County courts to help the lives of vulnerable children.  CASA is part of a national network of non-profit programs that advocate and are trained to be a “voice in court” for children removed from their families because of abuse or neglect. CASA promotes and supports a statewide network of local CASA programs 2)  Global Citizen volunteer/partner: a social action platform for a global generation that wants to solve the world’s biggest challenges by using a platform designed to help learn about issues, take action on what matters most and join a community committed to social change.  By working together, specific and tangible outcomes are achieved because Global citizens' voices influence world leaders and decision makers, and contribute to shaping our world.  In Sept. 28, 2013 participated in Global Citizen’s hosted festival in Central Park- Global Poverty Project Inc. to bring awareness around the globe. Performances given by Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, John Mayer  3)  Local Vision Center:   sorting out donated glasses from various vision centers for distribution around the world and Newark Salvation Army:   sorting out clothes for the needy and homeless.

Nicole Williams-James, Financial Literacy

Nicole Williams-James serves as Co-Chair of the Financial Discipline & Financial Readiness and Academic Scholarship programs. A native of Orange, NJ, Nicole has over 20 years of professional experience in financial services, currently as an Accountant for a privately held international corporation.  On the civic side, Nicole is a Silver Life Member in the Oranges & Maplewood Unit of the NAACP, a member of the North Jersey Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Alumni Representative for Northeastern University, and a former Trustee of the Orange Board of Education. A lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church (Orange, NJ), where her Great Great-Grandparents were Founding Members, she has served primarily within Youth Ministry, and Benevolence Committee. Nicole holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University (Boston, MA), with a dual major in International Business and Accounting, and a minor in African American Studies. Above all, Nicole is the blessed wife of André James.

Ana Miranda, Vice President - Spiritual and Wellness

Anna Miranda is a Solutions Architect for Verizon who supports the Media, Entertainment and Technology Enterprise Clients in the Tri-State area. Her key focus is to partner with clients to help understand their business initiatives, drivers, challenges and help achieve their business goals by designing appropriate solutions that meet their needs! She has a BS in Electrical Engineering from NY Institute of Technology and a MS in Information Systems Engineering from NY University.

She is married to Felix DeSouza for 22 years and they have a wonderful son, Alex who is a Freshman at Seton Hall Prep in West Orange.  Besides, work, being a wife and motherhood, she loves volunteering her time at a Soup Kitchen held by the Franciscan Friars of Renewal in Newark and is also a lay associate of the Friary.  She is a consistent contributor to her Church where she sits on the Leadership and Financial committee and organizes reflections for the community of worshippers on a bi-monthly basis.  Her recent reflection that she organized was held a week ago on, ’Hope for the heart – Faith and Forgiveness’.  She is also one of the founding members of the Circle of Rainbow Sisters seeking spiritual and wellness connection.  Spirituality is at the core of who she is as she feels strongly that we are all spiritual beings having human experiences.  She lives her life remembering her mentor’s words, ‘ Success means how many people are better off because you lived’.

Theresa Henry, Financial Literacy 

Theresa Henry has mastered the economic field, with her 28 year career in the Financial Services Industry. Her credits include outstanding service with reputable firms such as Met Life, AXA, AIG, Genworth, John Hancock, Lincoln, and Voya etc. For 2 decades, she has held positions from District Manager to Regional Vice President, responsible for teams of up to 200 people, recruiting, training and developing candidates to build distribution outlets throughout the United States.

She is a member of FINRA and the SEC. Theresa is professionally licensed in the areas of life, health insurance annuities and securities. She has certifications for 401k Retirement Plans, Financial Needs Analyst, and Long Term Care.

Theresa is actively involved in her community in the areas of financial literacy, youth development and quality of life initiatives. She is active with numerous organizations. She has worked with Donna Karen, Spirituality for Kids and The Beacon House, Women’s Empowerment program to Raise Awareness to Inspire Change and serves as President for The Progressive Women. She currently serves on the boards of The Newark Women’s Conference, Women’s Urban Conference and The Women’s Fund.

Ms. Henry is dedicated to educating and empowering businesses and individuals to secure a better financial portfolio. She openly shares information that is public domain, but unfortunately not public knowledge. Her ultimate goal is to reduce ignorance of “How Money Works”, introducing communities to powerful and essential financial resources, improving the financial awareness and worth of thousands of young people and families.
